Welcome to Farmstead 248!

About Us

Farmstead 248 started from the ground up in May 2022 in Strathmore, CA. Our goal is to grow the kind of variety and quality of produce that you might expect from a backyard garden but on a slightly larger scale with regenerative practices to benefit the land and benefit Tulare County residents and visitors - supplying our family, friends, and neighbors with a bounty of fresh and delicious produce. Jake and Kelsey Finley, the farmers behind Farmstead 248, are Tulare County locals and high school sweethearts. We are self taught regenerative farmers, passionate home cooks, and love being outside. Our shared values of conservation, community, and good food are the foundation for Farmstead 248.

Our “Sister” Flower Farm: Botany 248

Our farm has two parts. We, Farmstead 248, grow produce and raise birds for eggs. Botany 248, the flower and botanical side of our farm, is lead by Kelsey’s parents. We work together to prepare produce, eggs, and bouquets for the farmers’ markets and our farm stand.

Farm Stand Pick-up!

Our farm stand is currently only open for scheduled pick-ups! Doing more farmers’ markets means we can’t spend as much time manning the farm stand. Message us on instagram or facebook or email us to schedule a pick up.

Our longer term goals include:

  1. Creating a community space for education and fun for all ages.

  2. Working with local restaurants to compost their food waste.

  3. Developing a California native plant garden to support native insects and small wildlife.

  4. Hosting educational tours and farm to table dinner events.
